Ecstatic Dance Nashville is a 501(c)3 non-profit. Our mission is to create a sustainable joyful dance community engaged in artfully and skillfully co-creating dances that nourish and heal the broader Nashville community.

Our longterm vision is to easefully deliver beautifully designed dances on a set and recurring schedule. The organization is sustainable financially. Roles and responsibilities are clear and defined. Joyful teamwork is happening in creating and delivering the dances. We see 100 people attend regularly. a community staple growing in rhythm.

    TREASURER

    Will is an entrepreneur turned composer, producer and performer. As a lifelong dancer he knows the healing power of movement and wants to help self expression thrive in Nashville and beyond.

  • Maya Night

    CHAIR

    Maya Night is an entrepreneur and founder of Medicine Somatics. She has been teaching movement & guiding transformational work for 13 years. Maya is a native Nashvillian, mama & multi-modal artist.

  • Lauren Russell

    SECRETARY

    Lauren Russell is a board-certified somatic psychotherapist who has ben in private practice in Nashville for over ten years. Lauren is a published author, medicine woman and mama.

About Our
Non-profit

As a 501(c)3 Non-profit Orgnaization, we are required to operate responsibly & transparently based on board consensus & our bylaws.

We our guided by our mission and are not privately owned.

  • We believe that a thriving dance pays artist and talent for their unique gifts.

    After each event we pay the following percentages after dance-related expenses have been deducted from ticket sales (room rental/sound system rental, etc):

    Host 15% (or $100 min)
    Coordinator 15% (or $100 min)
    Sound Lead 10% (or $100 min)
    DJ 30% (or $100 min)

    The remaining net proceeds go into our organizational fund, which allows us to to pay our staff and cover other organizational expenses incurred by the dance.

    We publish our finances at the end of each year as per local legislation.

  • Our board is responsible for continuing & forwarding the mission and vision of Ecstatic Dance Nashville.

    All board members are elected, serve a 3 year maximum term and operate on a volunteer basis.

  • We listen to the voices of our community members and do our best to incorporate the whole into our organizational and functional decisions.

    Any concerns, complaints, issues or otherwise must be directed in writing to team@ecstaticdancenashville.org.

  • Ecstatic Dance Nashville would not be possible without our volunteer network to share the mission of dance. We have volunteers who setup the event, welcome our community, apply for grants, etc.
